Kahne maintained the lead through lap 276 when a caution for debris brought the leaders in for fuel and tires. Kenseth has been equally successful in both the fall and spring races, with three top-10 finishes in each. Kenseth’s lead was two seconds with 32 laps remaining. No one could keep up with him so Truex Jr.

Montoya was an aggressive driver in the Formula series and it’s obviously carrying over to the Busch/Nextel series. Montoya has been superb on road courses this season because of his experience in driving (and winning) in Formula 1 machines. However, his performance on oval tracks—the kind that makes up the bulk of the Nextel Cup schedule—paints a rather different picture.
